Brisk Me Away

Week Eight

Week eight came and went quickly! This week we have really noticed Henry changing a lot...he is just very aware and seems older. Here are some of this week's activities!
I visited school this week and Henry and I were greeted up the walk. The kids were so excited to see us!

More and more kids started to gather as we came up...this picture doesn't really do it justice, but it was so sweet. I can't wait for them all to get to know Henry.

Steven loves the excuse to take a nap with Henry:)

Henry has the habit of holding Steven's shirt like this when he holds him. Somehow he always finds it! What a grip.

For a couple of days there I was getting Henry to sleep, but as soon as I would put him down he would wake up. I found that this position works for him for whatever reason! I think he feels cozy with something behind him.

Steven being silly and Henry looking HUGE in his arms. He is getting so long.

Oh, and he is getting some serious cheeks, too!!

My parents came for a quick overnight visit. Love seeing them!

Loving on the new grandbaby!

Thanks for the visit....come again soon!

I try to capture the many faces of Henry....he's talking in this one.
Being distracted in this one.
Contemplating in this one.

Starting to feel silly in this one.
Actually BEING silly in this one (hey, I tried to capture it....this kid is squirmy!)

Week Seven

Can't believe Henry is 7 weeks old...we had a great "normal" week last week with lots of time at home! He is becoming much more smiley lately (especially when interacting with his Daddy!). To me this picture looks like they are sharing some inside joke that only the two of them know about or something.

It is so fun seeing Henry's new expressions

My mom came one afternoon and spent the night. I worked in the yard while she had some Henry time. I could get used to this!

When he was born, Henry's bottom lip was like this. It isn't so much this way anymore under normal circumstances, but when he sleeps hard and his face scrunches up you can see his cute crooked bottom lip!:)

Big man

Smiling at Steven again....this was on Friday before we went to a cookout with neighborhood friends. Henry did great at the cookout. He was either chillaxing or sleeping the whole time!

His smile lights up his whole face!

I was trying to get a picture of the cute Batman onsie my aunt gave Henry. He is saying, "Bat-who?"

Bright eyes!

Poor Mags...she looks like she wants to get away from her crying brother! :) She really has adjusted beautifully to having Henry in the house even if she does look pitiful in this picture.

We attempted another home photo shoot on Saturday...this is the best one we got I think.

We also went strawberry picking on Saturday. Henry slept through it all, but we got some excellent berries just the same!

Because He Lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives!

Week Six

After Steven's family scheduled a trip to visit us during their Spring break, the whole hospital visit messed that all up! When Henry got a clean bill of health, they decided to come for a few days to see him. I had been looking forward to seeing them all and it helped get my mind off of the craziness that had just happened to us. Let's just say that Henry got PLENTY of attention!

In the backyard with our very own Easter bunny:)

Henry is a lucky boy to have a dog AND a bunny!
Chillin' in his cute Easter bunny outfit...the feet had ears and, you can't see it, but there is a tail on is booty! :)

Aunt Heather and crew brought Henry the most adorable personalized Easter basket...of course we noticed that it was the perfect size for Henry to fit IN...hey, who is that behind the baby?? The basket had the cutest outfit in it, the tiniest pair of gray New Balance shoes you've ever seen, and a green frog stuffed animal that I know Henry will love. Thanks, guys!!
Out back with Grandma and Kaia...you'll be playing corn hole with the rest of us soon enough, Henry!
The boys!

Kaia LOVES her cuz
baby cuz and lil cuz:)

The gang....Steven unfortunately had to go back to work, so he isn't pictured.

Sweet kids

Aunt Heather and Uncle Jimmy

Henry is finally fitting into 0-3 month outfits....this one is so cute on him!

We...I mean the Easter bunny...got Henry "Pat the Bunny" for Easter. Such a sweet book! Henry gave me a gift on Sunday morning, too. I was talking to him and he smiled...he has smiled before, but this one (at least I will claim) seemed to be more intentional and like it was at me! :)
Easter Sunday we went to TN for my niece's baptism. It was so special to be able to be there! Here is the crew in front of the church.
Emma and Mary Ellen with their cousin....he's six weeks old on this day!
Henry with his Papa
and with his Grandmother
A family Easter photo!
We also visited Steven's dad and Peggy that afternoon. They got some good Henry lovin' time in!
I got to read Pat the Bunny to Henry...he looked some at the book, but mostly at me:)
I hope you'll love to read like I do, Henry!
We inherited a swing this week from a friend...the jury is still out for Henry on whether he likes it or not, but I certainly do! I hope he grows to love it!
