Brisk Me Away

Late Aug/Early Sept

In no particular order, here are some happenings from August and September from our family. Enjoy watching our boy grow!

We went to Big Spring Park one Friday night. Henry loved watching the ducks and running around.

He just kept pointing and talking about them. "Duck? Quack!" and for the babies, "Tweet, tweet, tweet!"

He even got close enough to actually  touch one of them, too, although it happened too quickly for me to capture on camera!

It doesn't take much to entertain Henry as long as water is involved.

I took him out front one evening to "splash", and with just a hose pipe, a squirt bottle, a watering can, and a bowl he's happy.

Yes, happy indeed.

He wanted to get IN the bowl, of course!
Labor day for us is normally filled with travel, but both of our plans for that weekend fell through, so it was actually really nice to head up to my parents house for a one night visit. Henry loved sitting on Papa's lap-here they are playing with corn holders. Henry is putting them in and out of Papa's mouth, then in and out of his pocket...hours of entertainment!
We swam the majority of the time we were there, but a rain shower came down for a little while in the afternoon. Henry liked playing with the umbrella with Manar. I don't really use an umbrella, so he hasn't seen one a whole lot in his life!
After nap, Papa was eating popcorn and Henry started chowing down on it. He LOVED it! I don't think he had ever had it before; it was a hit.
On actual Labor day, Grandpa and Peggy came to play for the day. Henry liked playing with his and Grandpa's hats.
Before heading to lunch, we stopped by the church playground for a bit. Henry has really started loving playgrounds. His favorite thing to do is slide.
Grandpa and Peggy after our yummy bbq lunch at Moes.
Henry sure does love his dog....he pats her head all the time now and says, "Good girl!" She really IS a good girl to withstand this, isn't she?!
Henry begs to go outside any chance he gets...we've decided next year we are going to hire someone to spray for mosquitoes so we can actually stay out for more than a few minutes at a time!

Below is Henry prepping for our day at the water park with the Bushes. Silly boy:)
I wanted to take Henry to Pt Mallard before school started back, so we headed there one morning with Robin and Bennett and had a blast! Unfortunately it was difficult to shield my phone from all the splashing, so I didn't get many pics.
But as you can see, the boys had a ball and were worn plumb out!
We went to a bday party at the little gym, and though we could not stay long, Henry got warmed up pretty quickly and loved jumping around on all the soft stuff!
Night time routine is a real treat-Henry is a clean and snuggly (for the most part anyway!) and ready to read, sing, and pray. He loves books, and is a big Corduroy fan. I am, too!
One weekend in August, we went with the Rollins to visit Jeremy's family near Scottsboro. We used their pool and were treated to some yummy fried catfish. Jeremy's nephew was there and is about Henry's age. They became buddies by the end and liked giving hugs!:)
When we all go to the driving range, Henry gets right in it. He tries to hit the ball, and even sets up a tee and tries to balance the ball on it, then hit it off (see below). It's like he's seen it before somewhere!:)

I made Henry some egg free pancakes. The reception was so-so. Oh, well!:)

One day after church I sneaked up to see what Henry was doing in nursery. He was busy playing kitchen with this dress up hat on. That's my boy!:)
Henry loves this car and he loves the street, too! I don't know what it is about the curb, but he wants to go there immediately when we go outside. I think it is all the rocks, dirt, and danger.
This is the pic I got texted to me from Steven one evening when I had school open house. Evidently Henry was not on his best behavior and would not eat or play nicely and did not want to be held. Sorry dada!
