Brisk Me Away

March 2015

I don't know why there is this huge blank space I can't get rid of. I'm not willing to spend time figuring it out! March was busy and fun. They're not in perfect order, but see below for some of what we had going on.

With nicer weather, we've been using the grill. Henry loves to get in the grill cover and hide...check out that static!!

We hung the swing at our new place, too! Annie is a fan!

We went to the park one day after church for more swing time!

This little one loves the mirror and gets pretty animated checking herself out.

Maggie got a cut that was actually a shave! There must have been some miscommunication when I dropped her at the groomer, but oh well! It's nice not to have so much fur around the house, and we kept saying how young and skinny she looked all of the hair was gone! If only a haircut would do that for me!

Henry playing with birthday gifts!

Annie learning how to use her sippy cup!

Henry is constantly lining things up. Here he lined up 2 plastic drawers and sat him and Annie in them.

He did the same with stacking blocks...Annie thought it was great:) Look at him holding her hand.

Henry loves to get in Annie's crib when she wakes up. She is usually so happy that she is thrilled with this...he is wild and usually jumps around and smothers her with hugs. She's a good sport.

We have been absolutely loving our screened in porch and try to eat all of our meals out there with this spring weather!
The kids and I went to visit family in Lex during the kids' spring break.
When we got there on Monday morning, we had a little Easter egg hunt in the back yard.

Camden had found all the stories he wrote when he was 4 and 5 years old (we all remember him doing this!). He got a kick out of reading them, and Henry was thoroughly entertained!

Annie was sick while we were there. She slept terribly and ended up with a fever, so I took her to their pediatrician (who she and Henry have both been to before). He said virus and ear infection, which she had just finished antibiotic for a few days prior. Poor thing can't catch a break on those ears. Anyway, she was so good natured in spite of it. Here is Layna giving her a strawberry. I had tried a few days prior, and she spit them out-funny since she's never done that with any food! She made some funny faces for Layna, and had a few bites. Since this she has become a fan, though!

Annie with sweet cousin Kaia who is SO good with kids!

e went to the new mall on Tuesday and ate at Chick-fil-A. This is when I started realizing Annie was feverish...look at those pink cheeks. Duh!

Working on some bead art!

Annie didn't need candy-she was fascinated by the plastic egg alone!
We left the morning of April 1, so Heather and I decided we would play an April Fool's joke on the kids. We got a box of doughnut holes for breakfast, but filled it with broccoli instead. The big kids thought it was funny, but Henry never got it. He said with a shaky voice, "Where are the doughnuts, Mommy?"

Annie rolls and rolls all over our living room floor. Maggie gets down there with her sometimes and they are funny together.
We went with friends to Early Works. Henry loved Biscuit's backyard!

He had fun in this water area there, too!

We went to TN one day and made some rounds...swinging with my mom, of course!

We ran by my aunt Brenda's house. She is doing well even with cancer. Henry remembered her when I mentioned her and immediately associated her with M$Ms, Sunny D, and dachshund figurines!!

We also met my friend Abby and her son Graham at the Children's Discovery Center in Murfreesboro and had a ball playing there. Henry loved dressing up in...well, I'm not sure? Either a post man or a mechanic? He loved all the centers, so it's hard to say what he's pretending to be here!

There was so much to do...Graham was sweet to let Henry tag along after him everywhere:)

I love how Annie listens, then looks up when we are reading to her as if to say, "Who's got me?"

At the gardens

We enjoyed the gardens one day during HSV spring break and got to participate in a story, craft, snack session.

St. Patty's day is normally when we celebrate a friend's birthday each year, but since he's not in our small group anymore (lame!), it felt weird just staying at home that night! SO, we dressed the kids up and went to dinner anyway!

Henry was pretty pumped that first of all he got lemonade with dinner, and second of all that it was dyed green! Can't you tell by that face?

We closed on our house and small group guys helped us bring the rest of our stuff to the new house-yay! We finally have everything in! Afterward we had everyone over to the back yard for hot dogs and smores on the fire pit. Beautiful night!

Loves hanging with Daddy!

Chillin!
Henry's little friend Savannah and he had such a ball running round the yard and playing in the woods!

Out with the old and in with the new! This is our last visit to our old house-we did some last minute cleaning and gathering, then said our goodbyes! We closed on 3/26.

Steven works hard to get Annie in crawl stance. She stays like this for a bit, then flops town on her belly.

Sweet siblings!

Earlier on 3/17 we had gone to a friend's house to play all morning. Here are Henry and Elanor on the rock pile!

Here is Annie at her 9  month appt-happy and sweet even with an ear infection.

Henry did great, too. Here he is drawing a circle for Dr. Dudley. I had  no idea what she'd ask him, so I was glad he could do it! Ha, ha! Once she started asking him stuff, he started showing off and giving her more than she asked for. He counted to 20 for her and it was so cute.

We finally got out the walker for Annie! So far this month she's only been able to figure out how to go backward!

Oh, dear! After working all day outside one Sunday, we decided to get chocolate ice cream bars from Publix as a treat. We let Henry have one in the car, and when we got him out, this is what he looked like!

We also got out the push car and Annie LOVES it, just like Henry did! She is so cute sitting in it and grins, bounces up and down, and waves in it.

A little something Henry came up with on his own....he is full of ideas:)

We snapped this one day at church. I thought it was so good!!

The kids hard at work with Daddy on a puzzle one afternoon.

Mom came back this month for another pool run, and this time we decided to let Annie have some fun, too! She loved it!

Annie gives mom the sweetest hugs and looks when she sees her. They're buddies.
Grandma and brother adoring baby girl!

The kids have so much fun in the tub together. Henry puts these washcloths on both of their heads and thinks its so funny! Little miss is such a good sport and plays right along.

We've learned that steering the power wheels is difficult for this kid, so we just let him go in circles around and around the front yard . Here he is loving it-in his wolf costume again.

This is Annie's drawer. She sits in front of it and pulls everything out, placing it behind her just out of reach. By the time she's done, there's an empty basket and a "rainbow" of toys behind her!

Someday, little one! Someday you'll be riding this for real...

We had a girls' celebration for Melanie's 40th birthday. We all dressed in 80's clothes and had a fun evening together!
With the birthday girl...you can see my hair got an 80's upgrade once I got there!

Henry is proud he and Annie are both sitting on their tiny chairs here:)

Annie and Ezra are buddies...it's fun seeing them weekly at small group since they're so close in age.

Attempting to catch those top teeth!
