Brisk Me Away

Week of 8/5

Last week was kind of a blur as I returned to school with 3 days of in-service and the other 2 days staying at school to get everything accomplished. Henry did well in nursery overall, but I did find myself looking at the clock quite a bit that first day and wondering how long these meetings were gonna take! Thursday and Friday were crazy days with school all day and then parent night one night and open house the next. To top it all off, Steven and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary on Friday! We ran out to dinner in between events, and Henry joined us. Our plan all along had been to go to Europe for our 10 year anniversary, so this was a far cry from that-ha, ha! It was fine, though, and our Europe plans are just being postponed until next summer rather than being given up all together. We did book a beach weekend for Labor day, though, so that is our gift to one another and our get away to look forward to. We will have Henry with us, but it will be so fun to show him the ocean for the first time. Anyway, happy anniversary, Steven. I love you. Thanks for being such a wonderful husband and Dad.
Henry has had some serious chewing needs lately with those 2 bottom teeth coming in, so Sophie the giraffe has come in extra handy. It is the perfect size for his little hands!
On Tuesday evening, I sat Henry down on the ground after bath just to see what he'd do, and low and behold-he sat up! It lasted for quite a while, too! He was so proud of himself and looked so cute.
He kind of propped himself up with his hands and just looked all around. Steven got right next to him and talked to him....Henry just looked and looked! I guess the new perspective was pretty interesting to him!

Checking out Dad!

I think I have mentioned this already, but Maggie is definitely Henry's favorite toy now. He is mesmerized by her and will just stare and stare, then smile and squeal, then reach for her. It is like she is the biggest, fluffiest stuffed animal he has ever seen, and she moves, too!:)

We got Henry an umbrella stroller and took him on a walk to check it out. I guess he approved, because he conked out about half way through! Must be comfy enough!

We also went to the park and put Henry in the swing....so cute! He loved it.

He looked so little in the swing.

Big grin!

Here he is practicing sitting up...using a little support on his back!:)

His feet are always crossed like this...love those cute little baby toes!
