Getting to Know You (at the hospital)

Family arrived and wanted to meet Ruby right away! I wanted the kiddos to be the first to meet their new sister, so after our initial "bonding time", Steven went out and got them from our family and brought them in. They were so excited and wanted to see Ruby and talk to her. Annie wanted to hold her right away and was very emotional when we told her not yet. Lots of the pics are of her looking sad bc of this!

Wanting to check her out!

Annie kept saying, "awwww!"

Finally getting weighed and measured-7 lb, 14 oz and 21 inches!

I see Annie in this pic!

I see Henry in this pic!

We got to stand right beside her bath and watch it all. We kept talking about ALL of her HAIR!!

Once she got all cleaned up, family finally got to come in and meet Ruby!

I love this pic of her admirers! In the waiting room were my parents, Steven's parents, and our kids.

The grandmas checking out their newest granddaughter!

Everyone wanted to hold her...I adore these precious first pics! You can't fake joy and wonder of a kid's face, ya know!?

Sweetness...so proud of their baby.

All of a sudden, these guys looked SO BIG!

This guy is so happy-he's such a good baby holder, too!

Grandpa got in a quick hold before heading back to the farm

Grandma got in a snuggle

My mom loved holding Ruby...she kept talking about her chin and how precious she was.

My dad even held her for a minute. Funny how men are uncomfortable around little ones:)

3 generations

Nurse Lauren who helped deliver Ruby

Getting in some of my own sweet snuggles...this was after all of our visitors and we were settled in our new room!

That evening Diana brought the kids back over to see us again. They loved seeing Ruby and holding her. Annie was again SUPER sad when we would take Ruby away after she'd held her for a while! They took a picnic dinner outside with Steven, then went home again for the night with Grandma.

First diaper change...Steven has had the "honor" of changing all the kids first diapers, and this time grandma happened to be there to assist, too! Evidently it was a 2 person job!:)

These are a set of pics we took of little miss...pretty sweet!

Loving on our little one. The hospital was a nice time to bond with Ruby and JUST have her to focus on.

Funny faces!

Sunday morning we got a visit from Dr. Murray.

And the Stubbs family

And the Bushes! They had traveled late into the  night from a trip to Ohio just to meet their newest cousin in the hospital:)
Checking out baby girl! Camden, pictured here, is the first grandkid on Steven's side and his bday is 7-9 just like the last grandkid Ruby!! What are the odds??
Cousin Layna loved snuggling with Ruby

Momma of THREE!

Grandma with all SIX grandkids

After church, the Burns came by
Grandpa came again...this time with Peggy who was out of town the day before!

And Lindsay and Wilks in the afternoon!

Then before family came again, the Williamsons dropped in!

An attempt at the 6 cousins!

I heart this pic...something about her expression cracks me up!

Then in the evening the Wayes came by and brought some beautiful flowers from our small group! We Facetimed with the Rollins during their visit.

We loved the visitors, but needless to say we were pooped! Haha! Steven must have snapped this one. I certainly don't remember it!

Just one of endless visits from people checking in on us...the nurse with dark hair is actually a friend-Hannah Bristol! What are the chances!

Lots of nursing sessions-she was a pro from the start!

Oh! Look what she found! Below are more photos we took...

Finally on our way home on midday Monday!! Phew...we were ready to go! Behind is the wreath we put on the door. It had her name and stats.

Looking tiny in her car seat!!

Finally home!!! So excited to introduce Ruby to her new life and get started as a family of 5!

Oh, I LOVE all of these pictures. You've done a really great job of documenting everything, from pregnancy, to birth and hospital. You will be so thankful for all of these pictures! The ones of the H and A meeting her...ugh, punched me right in the uterus, haha!

Ha, ha! You are too funny. Thank you. I feel like sometimes the amount of pictures I take in this modern world of technology is overkill, but then when I look back I am SO happy I have them. There's something magical about those first moments especially!:)
