We spent Easter weekend at the beach! We had Good Friday off, so we left Thursday and met my family down at Gulf Shores. Unfortunately, we had the worst weather we have EVER had at the beach, but we still managed to have some fun. We came back on Monday.
Friday-this boy was pumped to play in the sand even if it was a gloomy day! |
Annie was happy as long as her feet didn't touch the sand. |
We got lots of cousin time! These girls were SO brave to get in the ocean like it was nothing. I would have frozen my tail off!! |
We ate dinner out Friday night. |
Henry and my dad making silly faces. |
Henry collected shells Friday and he and my mom worked to get them all washed and laid out (perfectly by Henry I might add). He talked to her all about the colors and which ones were her favorite/his favorite, etc. |
Saturday we woke to literally thunder and lightning, so we started the morning by dying Easter eggs. |
I forgot to get a final product pic, but they turned out well! We spent the rest of that day at the outlet mall, indoor pool, and napping! |
Sunday morning was rainy, too! Henry was thrilled to open his Easter basket. |
New slippers! He's been wearing them to bed:) |
They both got plastic plates. He got colored glue sticks, band aids, snoopy undies, a sucker, slippers, and a reece's carrot. She got a purse, cookie monster bath coloring tablets, hair bows/necklace to match, and jelly beans. She didn't care about anything except the bath tabs and jelly beans, and he loved it all. :) |
We went to a random UMC contemporary service Sunday morn. We had planned on trying a sunrise beach side service, but the weather didn't permit. Oh well! |
Handsome boy! |
Pretty girl! |
Coloring with Aunt Marie. They gave the kids bubbles, Henry a coloring book, and Annie a stuffed bunny for Easter. So nice. |
I love this little series of pics Steven took! |
We got to spend a bit of time on the beach after naps on Sunday. The sun came out for a few minutes, then went back in, but we still got some dry time out there! You can see Annie's feelings about the sand touching her feet if you look closely here. She just says, 'feet! uh oh! shoes!' when the sand touches them. She was happy sitting on a blanket or chair and would even play with the sand toys that way. There was just something about walking on it! |
Henry was proud of his "sandcastle" with the "mote" around it!:) He bought that beach toy you see in the background with some of his bday money while we were at the beach, so we went to try it out. |
Our fam...with a little sunshine in the background!?!? |
This is random-on the drive back Henry drew our family. Left to right is Daddy, Mommy, Henry, Annie, the new baby, and Maggie. :) |
Henry was sick with fever on the drive home, so I took Tuesday off as well to stay at home with the kids. I ended up taking him to the doctor and he had STREP! We've never had that before at our house, and I don't know where it came from, but he had to stay home Wed from school, too. Anyway, all that to say that is why he is in PJ's in these pics. We had a post-Easter egg hunt in the backyard since we didn't get to take advantage of an egg hunt otherwise (although we did hide empty eggs for them in the condo on Saturday). |
He was feeling good after a couple rounds of antibiotic:) |
She kept saying, "oh, look! there's one! i see another one!' and stuff like that. |
She is saying "Candy!!" here and showing it to Bubba. |
She knows how to open this kind herself and was so proud to show her chocolate egg before stuffing it in her mouth:) |
Happy Easter!! |
